Prof. Dr. C.M. van Praag

Scientific Director

Prof Dr C.M. van Praag is the founder and the Scientific Director of ACE. She is professor of Entrepreneurship and Organization at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Amsterdam (UvA). Mirjam van Praag's research is in the field of entrepreneurship and organization. She recently published the book Successful Entrepreneurship. Van Praag has numerous publications in economics and entrepreneurship journals.

Van Praag has been working at the UvA since 1998. She is fellow of the Tinbergen Institute, research professor of the Max Planck Institute and associate editor of Small Business Economics. She previously worked at The Boston Consulting Group as a consultant, at Intomart as a research and new business consultant and at Procter and Gamble as a financial analyst.

Erik Boer

Director

Erik Boer is Executive Director of ACE. In this network organization his role is twofold, both  programme manager and networker. He initiates and encourages broad partnerships in the field of entrepreneurship, within the alliance of UvA, VU, HvA, and Inholland. He also maintains contacts among top entrepreneurs, the municipality of Amsterdam, sponsors, subsidisers and other affiliated agencies.

Erik Boer works at ACE since July 2008. Before this challenge he worked at the VU in the position of Director Communications. Besides this, Erik has many years experience in the areas of policy and project management. He was previously affiliated as policy advisor to the VU, the Erasmus University, and the University of Applied Sciences Windesheim.
